Sunday December 7 - Gondal - Bajana

We couldn't wait to leave the Kutch Safari Lodge soon enough, so we left earlier than necessary.

As has been the norm here, breakfast was almost an hour late, served with a jar of powdered coffee, no hot water, milk, or sugar. What a change from the great lattes that we have been ever since coming to India.

The roads were relatively empty due it being a Sunday.

We stopped at the Bhujori Village, which is famous for weaving, here could watch a demo and it was pretty impressive.

The road had salt processing plants and wind farms on both sides, that made some interesting scenery in this otherwise drab landscape.

We proceeded on our way after the short stop, we were making very good time and stopped for lunch at a rest stop ahead of time.

We both had the chhole puri, it was very tasty albeit a bit on the spicy side.

After lunch we reached the Royal Safari Camp in about 2 hours. This is a far cry from last night's resort. The grounds are well kept and the staff friendly and helpful. The only negative being its a bit noisy due to the proximity of the main highway.

I like this place very much and am glad we are staying here the next four nights.

The guide came to talk to us about the safari times, we decided to switch some safari times so we could visit the Modhera Sun Temple in the morning. The people here seem to be flexible enough and the switching was easy.
